Mobile Phone Use by Japanese Children Restricted
Japan is known as a country that has a culture of discipline and high work ethic. Progress of this country cannot be separated from it. However, recently the Japanese government started worrying about the erosion of these values in school children due to mobile phone usage.
As a solution, a new program launched. The government asked the parents and the school to limit mobile phone use in children of school age. In particular, the use of mobile phones that have internet features.
Basically, the Japanese government is very concerned about the emergence of problems from mobile phone use on children as much time wasted to send and receive e-mails via mobile phones. Not to mention their potential falling to be prey in the world of internet crime.
"The parents usually buy the phones at her child away without giving sufficient understanding," said Masaharu Cuba, representatives from the Japanese government. He also added that phone in Japan is not just a communication tool, but has become a pretty expensive toy.
Warning for parents and the school it is the recommendation of a panel of education. They also recommend to the mobile phone manufacturers in Japan to develop a mobile product that does not feature 'all sorts' for children, but only has the function of speech and global positioning system (GPS) to ensure the safety of the child.
In addition, the team also wants to be a program on a mobile phone that serves as a filter for Internet access.
