TV Affect Child Behavior
Television was found to interfere with the formation of the ability of the children in focus.
The study team from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, USA, found that when children aged less than three years playing in the room with the television, playing time they are 5% shorter than if there were no televisions. The presence of television also makes them focus while playing.
The study, published in the July issue of Child Development / August that involved 50 toddlers between the ages of 12, 24, and 36 months.
Dr. Daniel Bronfin of Ochsner Health System, New Orleans, said television could potentially increase the risk of behavioral disorders in children, such as difficulty concentrating and hyperactivity.
American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends that children aged two years or less were not given access to watch television.
