Seven Smoking Myths

THERE are several myths about smoking that you should know the truth.

Myth 1: Smoking makes you look sexy.

At least, that images are formed by the tobacco industry would like for you. Smoking can cause wrinkles in, and the teeth will turn yellow because it has been smoked for a long time. Smoking can also cause osteoporosis. There is a fact, women who smoke enter menopause at a younger age than women who do not smoke. 

Myth 2: If I stop, then my weight will go up.

It's possible, but there are still many ways that are not damaging to lose weight. Most people gain weight no more than 10 pounds (4.5 kg). Some medications are usually used to help quit smoking, can also be used to inhibit weight gain.

Myth 3: I'll quit when I was pregnant.

It would be difficult for you to get pregnant if you smoke, because smoking is a major cause of infertility. Women who smoke increase the risk of miscarriage and complications during pregnancy. And effort is needed some time to actually quit smoking, then your chances of successfully quitting smoking is better if you start early. 

Myth 4: One cigarette will not hurt.

Obviously be very detrimental to you. Every cigarette that you suction will reduce your life one minute and take you on nicotine addiction. And if you smoke in public, you will disturb them, especially if they have asthma, heart disease or allergic disease.

Myth 5: I'm young, I'll stop a few more years.

Almost all adult women who smoke started as a teenager. Most teenagers who smoke every day do not expect to continue to smoke, but most still smoking five years later.

Myth 6: I smoke a light cigarette, so it's not too bad.

Myth 7: Breast cancer is the number one killer for women.

Not. Number one killer for women with lung cancer remains. Increasing the number of deaths due to lung cancer is directly associated with increased levels of smoking in women. Also, the main risk factor number one killer of all diseases for women - heart disease - is smoking.
