FOOD poisoning is a clinical symptom, or health problems due to consumption of contaminated food poison.
Eat food, not only the necessary nutrients and nutrient adequacy contained in it, but it also must be considered in terms of cleanliness.
If we consume foods that contain bacteria, germs, even viruses, the food we eat can cause toxicity to the body.
Symptoms most often arise in the form of nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea. A person experiencing these symptoms continuously within six hours after ingestion of contaminated food. Other symptoms that often accompany the headache, abdominal muscle spasm, the skin becomes cold, and decreased blood pressure.
Food poisoning can be caused by three things, among others:
- Chemical factor
Is a food poisoning caused by chemicals contained in food.
- Biological factor
Is poisoning caused by consuming foods that contain toxins.
- Microbiology factor
Is poisoning caused by contaminated food pathogenic microorganisms (a microbiological cause of disease). Usually the food contaminating microorganisms by secreting toxins, and then infect the gastrointestinal tract.
Food poisoning can be caused by:
- Human
Wash hands before every meal. Since bacteria are always attached to the surface of the skin, especially on the hands.
- Environment
Clean kitchen utensils that will be used to process food. Keep your kitchen space is always clean. Dispose of garbage regularly.
- Groceries
Perform material selection, storage, and management of food ingredients carefully. For example, cook meat (chicken, beef, lamb, duck, etc.) perfectly, so that bacteria and spores contained in them die.
But if you are already poisoning, first aid that can be done, among others:
- Drink 2 quarts of water or given milk mixed with raw egg to rinse and dilute foods that already exist in the stomach.
- In order to rid the stomach of poison, give norit with a dose of 3-4 tablets for 3 consecutive times within each hour (Water thick coconut milk and coconut water green in the mix 1 tablespoon of salt may be an alternative if norit not available).
- If a patient in a conscious state, try to throw up.
Do it by entering the finger on the neck and esophageal body position higher than his head to ease the contractions.
- If the patient in a stupor, take it immediately to the nearest hospital or doctor to get intensive care.
