Women who use mobile phones (cell phones) during pregnancy have a tendency to bear children with behavioral problems. Thus the results of the research team from two universities in California, USA, and Aarhus, Denmark, to be published in the July issue of the journal Epidemiology.
They interviewed 13,159 mothers of children born in Denmark in the late 1990s on the use of cell phones during pregnancy, cell phone use by children, and children's behavior.
The result, mothers who use cell phones during pregnancy have a 54% higher propensity to bear children with behavioral problems.
Meanwhile, if these children then use their cell phones before the age of seven years, the trend will be increasingly high, reaching80%.
They are 25% higher risk of having emotional problems, 34%more likely to have trouble getting along with peers, and 35% hyperactive tendencies.
