Did you know Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI)? Namely skeletal muscle complaints due to work carried out continuously. Complaints are also known as Cumulative Trauma Disorder, which is a disturbance in the upper arm associated with the work being done every day.
Complaints are many suffered by employees who work with a static sitting position in front of a computer by moving the hand repeatedly every day, such as pressing a mouse, and typing with the keyboard in a long time.
The early symptoms of Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI):
- Difficulty opening and closing the hand
- Hand muscles cramp
- Difficulty using hands, such as the finger was stiff when flipping the book, holding the handle of the cup, and so on
- The hand was cold and pain in the wrist
- Around the shoulders and back pain, especially the morning after waking up
- Shaking hands
Tips to avoid Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI):
- Reduce the use of computers when not at work (such as playing games)
- Often replace right and left hand to press the mouse
- Take some time to rest
- Do not type more than 30 minutes without resting
- Stretch as often as possible, so that muscles do not cramp
- Perform with correct sitting position, 90-degree sitting position, leaning back in chair, hand to elbow is supported, the monitor is at your eye height.
