Workaholic and Muscle Pain Risk
Being a workaholic, or work holism may impact on health, both physical impact and the impact is felt psychologically. According to Bryan E. Robinson, Ph.D. in his article in the Journal of Employment Counseling, intervention is needed to identify what the cause of 'hooked' them on the job and can find ways to overcome it.
"Workaholic is a very serious problem. It is a compulsive disorder which can affect not only the workers but also their families and the work environment," said Robinson. In previous studies, workaholic usually depressed, anxious and even more cantankerous than that they also often suffer health problems.
One example of a health problem that can infect the enthusiast of this work was muscle pain. The pain and muscle pain that usually involves more than one muscle group at a time, and involve the surrounding tissues such as ligaments and tendons.
Muscle pain may also be a sign of a disturbance in the body as a whole, such as infections (including influenza), and damage involving the connective tissue in the body. The main trigger is usually fibromyalgia, the condition of weakening of the muscles and surrounding tissues, difficulty sleeping, fatigue, headaches, depression, and anxiety.
Common causes of muscle pain are also due to pressure on the specific muscles due to excessive activity. In addition electrolyte imbalance, such as potassium or calcium also affects muscle pain for the workaholic.
