Sleep Lose Weight
Want to lose weight after giving birth? Sleep enough.
The research team from California found women who slept more than five hours when their child is six months old, a chance to lose weight three times greater than other women who slept less than that.
"During this known sleep problems can lead to weight gain and obesity in the normal population. Study proves adequate sleep is as important as setting a healthy diet and exercise for young mothers who want to lose weight postpartum," said Erica Gunderson, their head of research.
Gunderson and his colleagues from Harvard University conducted this study on 940 women who had just given birth. The result, they are just getting to sleep less than five hours when their children enter the age of six months, will maintain their weight gain in at least one year after childbirth.
The researchers realized that research results present a dilemma for young mothers because the baby sleep in general has a very chaotic time.
