Printer and Danger for the Health

Printers in the office issued a very fine particles of toner, the scientists say the printer or the printing of documents commonly used in offices can damage the lungs, the way similar to the particles of smoke that damage the lungs, thus according to a team of Australian scientists.

Investigation of various types of printers showed nearly a third of printers were issued at the level of toner ink particles which have the potential harmful if it is in the air.

Scientists from the Queensland University of Technology called on cabinet ministers issued regulations on emissions of particles like this.

The researchers carried out tests on more than 60 machines. Nearly one-third is found remove very small particles of toner.

These particles are so small, so it can infiltrate the lungs and cause various health problems, from respiratory irritation to diseases that are more chronic.

Experiments performed in an office with an open room layout suggests that the level of scattered particles in the air increased fivefold during the hours of work, which scientists say is triggered by the use of the printer.

This problem becomes worse when the printer's cartridge is used and when graphics and images printed with a toner requires a larger amount.

The researchers urged governments regulate air quality in offices. They also want the companies to make sure printers are placed in places that have good ventilation system so that the particles can come out.
