Allowed Vaccines for Pregnant Women
Vaccines containing no active virus proved to be safe and pose no risk to the fetus. The following is a vaccine may be given to pregnant women:
Tetanus toxoid (TT): To prevent tetanus bacteria that can cause tetanus. A mother may be exposed to infection during childbirth.
Hepatitis B: Immunization is given to pregnant women who have a high risk of hepatitis B and hepatitis has negative test results.
The content of hepatitis B vaccine made of recombinant vaccine that is made by genetic engineering so as to resemble viral hepatitis B. The vaccine is considered not dangerous for both mother and fetus. The benefit of vaccination is to protect the mother and baby from infectious diseases before and after childbirth.
Influenza: There are many things that can cause a person exposed to influenza virus. Vaccine material is made from viruses that have been turned off. Thus, this vaccine is safe in pregnant women. The benefit of this immunization is relieving flu symptoms. But avoid giving vaccines during the first trimester, given the general risks that may occur in the first trimester such as miscarriage, and so on.
Meningococcal: The vaccine is useful to prevent meningitis or meningitis caused by bacteria. We recommend giving the vaccine after the first trimester.
