Patients with lung disease should avoid open flames. "The fire, the fire in the fireplace, and fire fireworks may aggravate the condition of their lungs," said the German Lung Foundation, headquartered in Hanover.

According to Germany expert’s lung, the fire that comes from burning wood produces smoke that contains components that not only carries the risk of lung cancer, but also causes inflammation for people with asthma or smoker.

Prof. Harrold Morr, Chairman of the Foundation for Lung who is also Director of Clinical Pneumonia Maldhof Elgerhaussen Greifenstein City, cautioned that an open fire produces carbon monoxide which is odorless, but toxic.

Gas was blocking hemoglobin, the pigment in the blood responsible for transporting oxygen from the lungs to all organs. Gas it causes fatigue, headache, feeling giddy, increased heart rate, and disturbances in vision. It can even lead to lung failure and be fatal.
