Viagra for Women

As we already know, Viagra is made specifically to overcome erection problems in men. But now in one study also found Viagra may help women who have sexual problems from antidepressant use.

Sexual dysfunction is known as a side effect of antidepressant medication use, with more than 70% of men and women reported experiencing sexual problems after taking antidepressants.
So the biggest reason they stopped the treatment of depression with antidepressant drugs is due to these side effects. As said H. George Nurnberg, MD, head of research at the same time professor at the University Of New Mexico School Of Medicine in Albuquerque on research published in The Journal of the American Medical Association.

In the study, Nurnberg and his colleagues found that women taking antidepressants when given Viagra tend to have an orgasm than in those taking placebo (medicines that contain no active ingredients).

"About 72% of women using Viagra with 27% of women taking a placebo to get" much progress "on a scale of sexual functioning," said Harry A. Croft, MD, medical leaders from the San Antonio Psychiatric Research Center in Texas and as a co-author of the study.

This study evaluated 98 women who use antidepressants, average age 37 years and all premenopausal (not yet entered menopause).

The group is divided into two, half the group using Viagra and half a placebo for research carried out for 8 weeks. Viagra was initially administered dose of 50 milligrams per day, taken one or two hours before sexual activity, and the dose may be increased to 100 milligrams. No one knew which pill they are taking.

On average, women taking antidepressants for two years and suffered sexual problems for at least 4 weeks. Antidepressants usually consumed are Celexa, Effexor, Paxil, and Zoloft.
