Depression as Suicide Early Symptom

PEOPLE often find it difficult to recognize the symptoms of depression, moreover cure it. Even most people who are depressed never diagnosed or undergoing treatment for the pain they experienced. As a result, more than 10% of people suffering from depression decided to commit suicide.


Therefore, depression should be identified before the result matters worse. According to doctors at The Cleveland Clinic Department of Psychiatry and Psychology, depression can be recognized early and diagnosed. 

Although there is not a test that can be used for mental health experts can diagnose depression, but with the symptoms and tests like below, physicians will be able to make a precise diagnosis.

If a physical cause that causes depression is not found, the doctor will recommend you to come to a psychiatrist or psychologist for a psychological evaluation. Psychologist or psychiatrist will determine the appropriate treatment, such as antidepressants, psychotherapy, or a combination of both. 

If you're depressed, you may experience five or more symptoms below for about 2 weeks. 
1. Persistent sadness, pessimistic 
2. Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, helplessness or despair 
3. Loss of interest or pleasure in daily activities, including sex. 
4. Difficult concentration and complaints on the weakness of memory 
5. Exacerbation of chronic diseases that exist in the body, such as rheumatoid arthritis or diabetes 
6. Insomnia (difficulty sleeping) or sleeping too much 
7. Weight loss 
8. Fatigue, loss of energy 
9. Anxiety, agitation, irritability 
10. Minds want to commit suicide or die 
11. Talk and movement is slow 
12. Headaches, stomach aches, and problems associated with digestion 
13. Always daydreaming either when alone or with the community. 

Symptoms in children and teenagers: 
1. Insomnia, fatigue, headache, abdominal pain, dizziness 
2. Apathy, withdrawal from social environment, lose weight 
3. Abuse drugs or alcohol, the decline in school performance, difficulty concentrating 
4. Feeling isolated from family and friends 
5. Dysthymia (mild depression but in the long term), symptoms are not too obvious and a little bit, but last a long time. 

If the depression affects your life with a negative impact, such as causing difficulties in relating and socializing, work, or family disputes. And there is no clear solution to these problems, then you should seek help to prevent the problem worse, especially if the problem is longstanding. However, if you or someone you know has a mind and a desire for suicide, seek help immediately!
