Night Work Vulnerable to Cancer

ARE you including workers who have to undergo the night shift? Or spend all your time for overtime up all night? If so, it's time you started to be alert to avoid cancer. Because a recent study released late last year gave states the opportunity to work the night shift on the body to produce carcinogens (cancer causing substances).

Working nights is not only disrupt the circadian rhythm (body clock). The study, conducted the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), WHO's division of cancer, asserts awake at night triggers breast cancer cells for women and prostate cancer for men. Due to work the night shift a factor karsionen.

The researchers suspect this night work disrupt the circadian rhythm. Besides the role of the hormone melatonin inhibits tumor growth, is normally produced at night. So lack of sleep makes your immune system vulnerable to attack cancer cells and has no power to strike back.

"Indications are positive," said Vincent Cogliano, a member of the IARC classification unit karsionogen materials. Cogliano also said there was an increase of cancer rates in night workers, although it was not taking into account the possibility of other factors.

If it is night shift work or routine night patrolling was really dangerous, certainly millions of people worldwide will be affected. Experts estimate nearly 20 percent of the working population in developing countries are night workers.

Shift work is also related to the body's response to light. Richard Stevens, professor of Cancer Epidemiology expert from the University of Connecticut Health Center also supports the balance of light and dark is very necessary. Even some employers researching light color, the result, red color, which is less convenient to use when working, most do not actually affect the production of the hormone melatonin, which is produced at night.

Here can be understood, those who work at night through lifestyle 'disturbed', because the lighting system while working at night also cause cancer. Because melatonin is capable of extracting light that can stimulate the growth of cancer cells

Well, how about you, although this is still just a theory, there may be a good start to think to reduce the habit of working at night.
