Men Multivitamin Supplements, should?

MORE than half of teenagers in the United States regularly take multivitamins and other supplements to enhance their imune system and add their nutrients. The question is whether vitamin and mineral supplements essential for men to be consumed?

Based on the last fact, the correct answer is "I don't think so," said Christian Gluud, MD, a vitamin researcher at the university hospital of Copenhagen, Denmark. "The short answer, do not take these drugs."

"There are no facts that prove that supplemental vitamins and minerals beneficial to your health." said Irwin H. Rosenberg, MD, laboratory director of university nutrition at Tufts and NeuroCognition. According to him, there is no indication that the diet will be successful with taking a multivitamin.

Multivitamin and mineral supplements not only provide little health benefit for men in mid-adulthood (45-59), but if you take a multivitamin overdose can make you sick and accelerate your age. Re reviewing 68 randomized trials of high-dose antioxidant supplements such as vitamins C and E is 5% high risk resulted in the death of anyone taking them.

At first glance, it looks like it hostile. More than three decades ago, numerous studies have found that eating fruits and vegetables that contain antioxidants and other vitamins and minerals, can prolong life. But there is a clear component of a healthy lifestyle that can not be 'put in a bottle'.

"Multivitamins are not shortcuts," said Gluud tells WebMD. "You better eat a varied menu rather than increasing the risk by taking supplements."

To be sure, vitamin supplements can be beneficial for some age groups. After age 55 years and over, your body will start to lose the capacity to produce vitamin D from sunlight and adding vitamin D pills can be the right choice.
