High Cholesterol Strengthen Memory


Many people worry if they're high in cholesterol can lead to heart disease. The doctor was much advocated for lowering cholesterol levels in the body.

However, according to research results titled Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology, is not always detrimental effect of high cholesterol. It can actually reverse, useful to keep your memory so that it can prevent dementia.


The researchers checked the cholesterol levels more than 3,600 British civil servants and give them a memory test with an average age of 55 and 61 years. For these tests, volunteers read out a list of 20 words and asked to write back as much as they remember. They were given a limit of 2 minutes.

Test results showed that volunteers with high cholesterol levels do such tests better. In contrast, the performance of participants with low cholesterol levels decreased.
