13 Tips to Avoid Heartburn at Night
Sometimes when you go to sleep, tummy feels hot. In fact, gut ache, and chest tightness. Here are 13 tips to avoid heartburn in the stomach at night:
1. Avoid burning sensation in the stomach by reducing the consumption of acidic foods, like oranges, tomato or apple vinegar.
2. Spicy foods will give you a burning sensation in your stomach, reduce consumption and chili pepper
3. Do not lie down after eating, wait 2 to 3 hours. When you sit down, gravity can help you deliver the food and stomach acid into your stomach.
4. Enjoy lean meats and non-fat foods. Oily foods can increase the burning sensation in the stomach at night.
5. If you want to avoid an attack of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) or tightness in the chest in the pit of the stomach, avoid foods such as chocolate, mint, citrus, tomato, pepper, cider vinegar, ketchup, and mustard.
6. Avoid alcohol, caffeinated beverages, and soft drinks.
7. Eat a light menu before bedtime or at dinner.
8. Reduce or stop consuming soft drinks.
9. Do not eat too fast; do not enter the food before you chew the food into the stomach.
10. Avoid snacks at bedtime. Eat close to bedtime expose you to a burning sensation in the gut.
11. Try lowering your weight, so you can breathe a sigh of relief when sleeping.
12. Try chewing gum at night. This will help you produce saliva, which can neutralize stomach acid.
13. Do not smoke. Because nicotine can cause the lower esophageal sphincter (a ring of muscle located at the junction between the esophagus and stomach) would rest.
