Fact of Skin Care Myths


There are some skin care myths that may have you heard or even your run. Instead of the benefits that you can, actually may damage your beautiful skin. Here they are:

1. The higher the SPF, the better the protection 




There are three types of ultraviolet (UV) rays: UVA, UVB, and UVC. UVA rays penetrate the outer skin of the deepest, changing the pigment of our skin that makes our skin yellowish brown. UVB rays are the most burning sun. These rays can also damage DNA and cause skin aging, pigment changes, and carcinoma (tumor). While UVC rays are absorbed by the atmosphere so as not penetrate to the earth.

Sun Protection Factor (SPF) which is in sunscreen refers to the amount of UVB rays. Sunscreen is therefore necessary to protect both against UVA and UVB rays. Find at least SPF 15 and one of them contains: Mexoryl, oxybenzone or avobenzone (Parsol 1789) for UVA protection, or titanium dioxide or zinc oxide (which can block both UVA and UVB).

2. There is no need to use sun block in cloudy weather

Even on cloudy days too, from the sun's UV radiation can penetrate the earth's surface. So, you should use a sunscreen every day, and use the back every two hours and after swimming or sweating.

And do not easily believe, with only use makeup with SPF, and then you're protected. Based on Leslie Bauman, MD, director of the University of Miami Cosmetic Group and author of The Skin Type Solution, you have to put 14 to 15 times the normal amount of makeup people would use to get the SPF on the label powder. The same thing comes from foundation and liquid makeup. Make sure you use sunscreen in addition to your makeup.

3. To scrub the skin will keep your skin healthy and free from acne.

"When you attempt to scrub your face, just the same you grind the oil that protects your face. Where is the treatment that causes red spots on the skin and a burning feeling," said Sandy Johnson, MD, a dermatologist. She also added, use a gentle cleanser and apply moisturizer or sunscreen.

4. Anti aging products can remove wrinkles

Simply put, anti-wrinkle cream can restore skin hydration and makes the skin look better for a while. There is one product that has a good history and reputation as a reliever fine line, however, retinoid are the subject of conversation.

Often sold under the name Retinol or Tretinoin, this cream can penetrate the skin and increase skin cell turnover. Studies show the effectiveness of treating acne, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, and reduce the risk of aging due to sunlight. To use, consult with your doctor.

Also recommends the use of antioxidant creams that contain vitamin C, but watch out for counterfeit products, make sure you get it on the credible companies that producing quality products.
