Isotonic Drinks Help Overcome DHF

Isotonic drinks contain various minerals and carbohydrates that can help overcome the loss of fluid in the body due to perspiration. Drinks that have ion were also beneficial for healing diseases that require a supply of fluids, such as dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF).

DHF patients are advised to consume isotonic drinks. That because DHF patients had plasma leakage in the blood supply so it takes a lot of fluids.

In such conditions, isotonic fluid needed to supply useful patient, complete with intravenous fluid therapy administered directly into the patient's blood vessels. In patients with diarrhea who spend a lot of fluids, isotonic drinks may help supply energy and fluid replacement.

However, sometimes there are people who are sensitive to isotonic. In that group, after consuming isotonic drinks may experience diarrhea. To that end, isotonic beverage consumption must be done carefully.

As the product is marketed to the general public, isotonic drinks generally have a relatively low mineral content. Therefore, side effects due to the excess minerals from too much drink isotonic rare and have never even happened.

However, in certain people, such as kidney disease, excess mineral intake can exacerbate the disease. Likewise for people with hypertension, excess sodium can affect the blood pressure rising.

Isotonic beverage consumption should be done with due regard for the consumption of foods and beverages as a whole. If other types of foods and beverages consumed already contain many minerals, isotonic beverage consumption is not necessary. Even if an isotonic drink, the amount should be limited.

Consumers also need to observe the label on the packaging isotonic drinks so they can estimate what percentage of minerals that have fulfilled the needs of the drink and what percentage are still to be met from sources of food/drink other.

Coconut water also has a composition similar to isotonic drinks. Coconut water contains carbohydrates, protein, minerals, including K, Na, Ca, and Mg as well as vitamins, namely vitamin C and vitamin B complex.

When the need for fluid, energy, and minerals are adequate sources of food and beverages consumed daily, isotonic beverage product consumption is not too important to be done.
